Priti Colbeck

Actor and Producer

My acting career began in 2018 when I took some courses at Central School of Speech and Drama. I supplemented these by working with fantastic acting and vocal coaches.  Over the past three years I have been working on a number of pieces, with particular focus on one woman shows and female centric stories.

At this stage of my acting career I am still keen to create and self-produce work. I set up Kean Street Productions in 2021 to help me realise these ambitions.   My particular interests centre around women’s stories – especially those of under-represented groups.  Our production of Up In Town by Hugo Blick was an important representation of invisible women (i.e. those who are middle-aged, flawed and forgotten).  While, our production of KIN written by Max Dickins recognised that some women choose not to follow the traditional route of marriage, followed by parenthood. In March 2024 we produced a modern version (translated by Daniel Raggett) of Jean Cocteau’s extraordinary play The Human Voice: a story through which we see and hear how one woman navigates the end of an affair with a thousand lies and a profound truth. This latest venture furthers our mission to give voice and visibility to marginalised and underrepresented women.  In addition, Kean Street Productions continues to collaborate on new projects with a diverse range of artists that take us even further in this direction – for latest updates, subscribe below.
